Transportation Info to Munich from Villa Solana

Tram:

Either tram 25 from Gruenwald into town - it feels a bit slow (about the same speed as car traffic) but you are above ground and can enjoy a ride while sightseeing. 30 minutes and you are in town center. Tram 25 station is in the village center of Gruenwald, about 10-15 minutes by foot from the house. 2 min by car.

S-Bahn:

Or you can catch either S-Bahn 7 in Hoellriegelskreuth or S3 in Furth - both being neighbouring villages about 2-5 minutes by car, Furth with free park&ride lot. The S-Bahn is faster than tram as it goes underground in the city.  This takes 15-20 minutes to town center.
There is a bus close to home (100 yards) from Gruenwald to the S-Bahn stations, but it does not run very frequently and not at night.

U-Bahn:

The real underground is called U-Bahn, and is even deeper underground than the S-Bahn. It does not extend into the southern suburbs - it takes 10 minutes by car to the park&ride at Mangfallplatz (1Euro per day)  - this is what we always use to go to town.
